The independent film also created one of the most recognized villains in cinema, Michael Myers. In 1988, HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS was released, bringing the relentless killer back to the big screen. The film picks up ten years after a small Midwestern town fell victim to his rampage. He awakens from a coma and, learning he has a niece back in Haddonfield, returns to find her.
Released the following year, HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS continues the story of Myers' niece Jamie, who has been in psychiatric care since her last encounter with her uncle. Michael Myers is presumed dead but a well-meaning derelict nurses him back to health, and one year later he is back to kill again!
Following her mysterious behaviour at the conclusion of HALLOWEEN 4, young Jamie is committed to the psychiatric care of Dr. Loomis.
