What is SpectiCast?

SpectiCast (www.specticast.com) is a private digital broadcast company that simulcasts LIVE cultural and performing arts and entertainment events never before available, to Multi-Viewer VenuesTM  including senior communities, educational facilities, theaters, community centers, for use in their private auditoriums and entertainment spaces and shown on large screen televisions and projectors. Our Music and Speaker collections currently feature live and encore performances from world-renowned organizations like The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Curtis Institute of Music, and The Free Library of Philadelphia. We have demonstrated this service to thousands of viewers throughout the country to high acclaim.

Subscribers experience affordable live world-class performances from the best seat in the house - in the comfort and convenience of their own community.  Never before has this unique viewing experience been possible.  Each Music Collection program is produced in real-time using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system that is choreographed to capture the fullness of each performance and the intimacy of an on stage experience. In addition to the live performance, our audiences are treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews and features that are only available to SpectiCast subscribers. Our Speaker Collection features live and encore lectures and presentations from some of the most celebrated voices in the humanities, arts, and sciences. Simulcast live from Montgomery Auditorium in The Free Library of Philadelphia in Center City Philadelphia, each Author Event typically run 60 minutes in length; the first part being the talk given by the author, followed by a question and answer session with the audience including our remote viewers.

What is a Multi Viewer Venue?

A Multi-Viewer Venue is any location that has a standard high speed (broadband) Internet connection, a television and sound system, and seating for multiple spectators. Typically, the Multi-Viewer Venues that we target seat 25 or more persons typical of those usually found at retirement communities, independent living and assisted living facilities, community centers, playhouses, movie theatres, school auditoriums and other similar venues.


What type of Events does SpectiCast offer?

We offer our customers only the highest quality live events through a series of collections including:

The Music Collection - currently featuring "live" and encore performances from the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra and Curtis Institute of Music

The Speaker Collection – currently featuring "live" and encore Author Events from some of the most celebrated voices in the humanities, arts and science.

Going forward, we intend to extend our content portfolio to bring more events and programs to our subscribers.


Who are SpectiCast's Content Partners?

We currently have agreements with The Philadelphia Orchestra Association, The Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, and The Curtis Institute of Music and plan to contract with additional content providers in the coming months.


How does SpectiCast distribute its content?

SpectiCast provides a private digital broadcast service via the Internet using patented technologies to offer secured, high quality, audiovisual experiences to large and small screens. SpectiCast’s Digital Distribution Network (DDN) supports the targeted distribution of both enhanced and high definition audio-visual content from its content partners to any location in the world that has a true broadband Internet downlink (at least 3Mbps for enhanced-definition and 7Mbps for high-definition), television or other video screen, and audio system.

While we specialize in broadcasting "live" content, we also provide encore and time delayed content and programming.

We offer our programming on a subscription or per-event basis to allow flexibility at a high value.

Where is SpectiCast's service available?

While our primary focus is in North America, our network has a global reach and therefore we can provide service to any location with a broadband Internet connection and audiovisual system.


Does SpectiCast offer both High Definition (HD) and Enhanced Definition (ED) broadcasts?

Yes, however we do require a higher amount of bandwidth to deliver an HD (High Definition) broadcast compared to an ED (Enhanced definition)broadcast. See Technical Questions for additional information.
